Condrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s physician was arraigned February 9, 2010 for Involuntary Manslaughter. Murray pleaded not guilty. thus the trial will begin on April 5 and if proven guilty of killing the King of Pop, he will serve a maximum of 4 years imprisonment.
For those of you who are not able to catch the livestream at TMZ, here’s the timeline of events:
UPDATE 2:21 PM PT: Things are done inside the court — we’re waiting to catch Dr. Murray on the way out.
UPDATE 2:19 PM PT: Murray just walked out of the courtroom … without handcuffs. His lawyer followed behind him with a bail bondsman.
UPDATE 2:18 PM PT: The D.A. wants bail set at $300,000. Murray’s attorney is objecting — says Murray is not a flight risk.
UPDATE 2:15 PM PT: The judge just said that Murray cannot be in possession of (or prescribe) anesthetics. He can prescribe other meds. Quote from the judge: “I do not want you sedating people.”
UPDATE 2:11 PM PT: Bail has been set at $75,000 — three times the standard amount for cases like this. Murray had to surrender his passport. Murray was arrested and taken in to custody for booking at the courthouse.
UPDATE 2:05 PM PT: The D.A. is arguing that Murray was born outside the country; Murray’s lawyer says he is a U.S. citizen.
UPDATE 2:00 PM PT: The D.A. wants bail set at $300,000. Murray’s attorney is objecting — says Murray is not a flight risk.
UPDATE 1:59 PM PT: The medical board just filed a motion to have Murray’s medical license revoked.
UPDATE 1:58 PM PT: Murray just pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
UPDATE 1:55 PM PT: Murray has entered the courtroom.
UPDATE 1:54 PM PT: The judge has taken the bench.
UPDATE 1:50 PM PT: The media has finally been let into the courtroom. Jackson family members spotted: Joe, Katherine, Jackie, Rebbie, Jermaine, and La Toya.
UPDATE 1:20 PM PT: Michael Jackson’s family, including father Joe, has begun to assemble in the court.
UPDATE 12:55 PM PT: Dr. Conrad Murray has arrived.
UPDATE 12:00 PM PT: Members of the Jackson family — including Katherine, Joe, Jermaine and La Toya — have arrived at the courthouse.
