Last Friday I got something in the mail from Delta Airlines. I have been a member of their SkyMiles program since my last year’s US trip. For those who don’t know yet, Northwest Airlines merged with Delta Airlines late last year, but the latter’s name was chosen as main name for both companies. I had my NWA card and they had replaced it with Delta’s after the merger.

I opened my mail and they gave me a new Delta SkyMiles Gold Medallion card since I have accumulated certain number of points based on the mileage of my travel. Along with the new card came 2 bag tags with special bar codes each with my details. Delta also gave me 4 Have One On Us coupons wherein I can use while onboard their flight. The coupon can be exchanged for my choice of either 1 beer, 1 cocktail, 1 headset or 1 wine split.
An enclosed letter with new benefits this 2010 on the SkyMiles program is included. This year marks the first year of their Rollover Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), unlimited complimentary upgrades on Award Tickets, direct ticketing charge waivers and complimentary Delta Sky Club access. I am still awaiting for my free Delta Sky Club membership card which I’ll be getting after a month.

And here’s the best part! I am getting free roundtrip with Asia through the Award Travel starting at 20,000 miles. I’ve already checked the available country and found one, I am travelling to Japan very soon and for free and I’ll be using the bag tags and the coupon too. One more thing, for this program, blackout dates do not apply. This bonus is the best so far. And am thankful I flew through Delta Airlines. Definitely, this is my must try travel destination, am looking forward to my trip at Nagoya, Japan. My second time in Japan, my first was in Narita, Tokyo Japan but this time in Nagoya. Isn’t it great to discover something worth trying? This trip is making me excited and it gave me more reasons to be happier.
