Binibining Pilipinas 2010 Winners

Binibining Pilipinas is one of the Philippines’ much awaited beauty pageants. Last night, March 6, 2010, 21 lovely finalists competed for the 3 most coveted titles, Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International during the coronation.
Emerged as winners were crowd favorites: Krista Arietta Kleiner (candidate no. 11) as Bb. Pilipinas-International, Maria Venus Raj (candidate no. 10) as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe and Czarina Catherine Gatbonton (candidate no. 21) as Bb. Pilipinas-World. First runner up went to Dianne Necio (candidate no. 22) and Helen Nicolette Henson (candidate no. 18) was declared as second runner up.
Just like any other beauty contests, special awards were presented. Here’s this year’s winners circle list:

Best in Long Gown – Maria Venus Raj
Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice Award – Czarina Catherine Gatbonton
Miss Photogenic – Helen Nicolette Henson

Ms. Philippine Airlines – Helen Nicolette Henson
Texters’ Choice Award – Laurese Ann Caparas
Araneta Center Shoppers’ Choice Award – Selena Alexis Antonio
Best in Talent – Krista Arietta Kleiner
Best in Regional Costume – Maria Venus Raj
Ms. Friendship – Maria Venus Raj and Kate Princess Alimurong
The panel of judges for this year’s pageant were:
Thierry Borja de Mozota – Ambassador of France to the Philippines
Ivan J. Crespo – Ambassador of Panama to the Philippines
Mike Enriquez – GMA 7’s multi-awarded newscaster
Juvenal Sanso – nternationally renowned artist and Presidential Medal of Merit Awardee
Aurora Pijuan – former Miss International
Claudine Barretto – box-office queen and award-winning movie and television actress
Nonito Donaire, WBA Interim World Super Flyweight Champion
Gabe Norwood – Filipino-American professional basketball player for Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Jaime Bautista – President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines
Goran Aleksandrovski – General Manager of Sofitel Philippine Plaza
Vice Admiral Ferdinand Golez – 30th Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy
Arnel Pineda of the American rock group Journey serenaded the ten finalists. While the 2009 Bb. Pilipinas winners showcased a production dance performance with some of GMA 7 talents Akihiro Sato, Victor Aliwalas, and Daniel Matsunaga together with the Whiplash dancers.
The Bb. Pilipinas Coronation Night was hosted by Dingdong Dantes and he was co-hosted by fellow GMA 7 talent Carla Abellana.
